Michael J. Levangie

Mr. LeVangie is a seasoned litigator. Whether the dispute is in state court, federal court, before an administrative agency, or in an alternative dispute resolution forum, it is likely that one was previously encountered and successfully defended by Mr. LeVangie.

Mr. LeVangie is a recipient of the Grotius Award for Excellence in International Law, the Economist International Oralist Award, and the AJS Negotiation and Counseling Award. Mr. LeVangie is a member of the Center for International Dispute Resolution (President, 1994-1997) the Defense Research Institute, CAHSA, the American Medical Association, The American Motorcycle Association, USA Track & Field, and USA Cycling.

Michael J. LeVangie was born in Milton, Massachusetts and admitted to the California Bar and the United States District Court, Eastern and Northern Districts of California in 1992, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth District and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1997. He was educated at The University of Tulsa, San Francisco State University (B.A. Economics) and the Golden Gate University School of Law (J.D. 1992, LL.M (International Studies) with honors 1995).

When not actively defending a client, Mr. LeVangie works to prevent claims with cutting edge, practical advice. His legal advice is combined with keen business sense and practical human experience. Mr. LeVangie’s areas of specialty include extended care facility defense, professional liability, motor sport and leisure liability, products liability, complex construction defect litigation, and corporate governance.

Mr. LeVangie maintains a passion for endurance and motor sports. When not in the office he can often be found on the trails or local track preparing for an upcoming event.
